Takeda Coupler Upgrade (HPS Silicone Coupler with T-Bolt Clamps)

Although I took care not to over tighten the Takeda clamps the combination of vibration, heat, and the toothed design of the original clamps led to the below etching of the coupler. While no perforations occurred yet, it seemed only a matter of time before the engine could see unfiltered air. The Takeda coupler after one year:



The solution is a reinforced silicone coupler and smooth-style clamps that do not cause pressure spots:
